Technical Writer

Conduct needs assessment services when required. Develop standardized documentation using templates. Liaise and work with Subject Matter Experts (SME) to identify objectives, gather material, structure effective documentation and develop assessment tools appropriate for technical and trade audiences. Write, revise and edit work procedures, project charters, user guides, proposals and other technical documents from information provided by SMEs and/or IT Managers. Analyze written documents for: logic, completeness, focus, clarity, grammar, spelling and punctuation. Consult with Subject Matter Experts to ensure accuracy and relevance of written documents produced. Support processes and development life cycles currently in place. Minimum 5 years experience as Technical Writer the design, writing and creation of technical documentation in the hardware/software technical areas in support of development teams and support teams. Experience in writing user manuals for IT Systems and IT Operations and maintaining them based on user feedback and system/infrastructure changes. Excellent written communication skill and the ability to translate complex concepts into understandable material for specific audiences. Polished client interfacing capabilities. Proven project management, time management, and problem solving skills. Must have successfully graduated from a recognized post secondary institution with at least a 2 year diploma in professional/technical writing, computer science, or related fields. Must have valid secret security clearance.
